Who We Are

Who We Are

Pargas Rotary Club was established in 1951 and has therefore existed for more than 70 years. We are today around 50 members, women and men, and we belong to District 1410.

Weekly meetings where members from different professions meet for lunch is the foundation of Rotary. In these meetings, interesting presentations are given by our members or invited guest speakers. Visits to various places are also a part of our program.

We support humanitarian projects carried out by the international Rotary organization, participate in Youth Exchange, and promote the well-being of our vicinity.

A Hobby with a Purpose

We support the wellbeing and development of young people and work for a better local environment.

Locally Pargas Rotary Club supports Youth Exchange, allowing youngsters to study a year abroad and through scholarships in Pargas.  We believe that youth exchange is the best grassroots internationalization and peace education.

We also highlight important social development needs. We organize local projects where members can contribute on a voluntary basis.

An Influential International Organisation

Rotary was established 23 February 1905 in Chicago. It is an international service and charity organisation. The homestead of Rotary International is Evanston, Illinois. Our motto is Service Above Self.

Rotary has 1.2 million members in 35,000 clubs in more than 200 countries. Rotary is a remarkable international service and charity organisation.  Finland is divided into five Rotary districts, one of which includes the Estonian clubs.  In Finland and Estonia, there are 300 clubs altogether, with more than 10,000 Rotarians.
